Post Malone Announces Summer Tour With 21 Savage

The chart dominators of "Rockstar" plan to cross the U.S. as fans eagerly await what Post Malone drops next

Anticipation is enormous for Post Malone's already delayed follow-up album to his 2016 super-hit Stoney, so some relief is provided by the 28-date April–June U.S. tour announced on Feb. 20. Accompanying him on most of those dates are artists 21 Savage and SOB X RBE.

The first taste of Post Malone's awaited sophomore effort was the ubiquitous hit single "Rockstar" featuring tour-mate 21 Savage. Both men made it onto Forbes' Hip-Hop's Future Moguls class of 2018 partly due to the song's year-end success. One of the magazine's judges said she even heard "Rockstar" pumping from an elderly lady's convertible at the airport. SOB X RBE have the track "Paramedic!" on Black Panther: The Album, Billboard 200's No. 1 album for the week ending Feb. 15.

Hip-hop and R&B have become bigger than rock and manager of media for Republic Records, Matthew Bernal said, "Post Malone's 'Rockstar,' which was the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks last year, is a strong indication of how today's hip-hop artists view themselves: as rock stars."

See the full list of tour dates on Post Malone's website. Tickets for the tour go on sale Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation.

Women Break Through Forbes' Hip-Hop Future Moguls post-malone-cardi-b-forbes-hip-hops-future-moguls

Post Malone To Cardi B: Forbes' Hip-Hop's Future Moguls

Forbes' class of 2018 of hip-hop royalty is dominated by women like Cardi B, Lizzo and WondaGurl

Measuring prospective wealth is a music angle Forbes has been covering for ages, for example with its 2017 Hip-Hop Cash Princes. But the label no longer fits. With emerging artists Lizzo and WondaGurl breaking into the light, and GRAMMY nominee Cardi B dominating the charts, that phrase "Cash Princes" gives way, for the first time ever, to Forbes' Hip-Hop's Future Moguls class of 2018.

For the rapid rise of Post Malone, Forbes wrote, "The future is now." Also on the list is "Future Mogul" 21 Savage, who helped propel Malone's "Rockstar" everywhere — one of the list's judges heard an older lady at the airport pumping it up in her convertible. That hit, Malone's single "Congratulations," featuring Quavo, and album sales for Stoney have put him in the rarified sales territory of Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

GRAMMY nominees Tyler, The Creator and Vic Mensa both made the list. Playboi Carti, whose hit "Magnolia" helped us through the summer, is one of the Future Moguls too, along with about-to-be-better-knowns Dave East and Lil Pump.

Kudos to all these hard-working artists whose musical dreams and ambitions have been shared through song — and Facebook, SoundCloud, Twitter — millions and millions of times. Whatever they are rolling in, we are rolling to their beats.

Some of what makes festivals so unforgettable are the performances by newcomers and emerging artists. With many more expected on Firefly's multiple stages, a few who we've written about or spoken to include Alison Wonderland, Brockhampton, Dashboard Confessional, GRiZ, Kygo, Gucci Mane, Jessie Reyez, Snail Mail, Walk The Moon, and Young The Giant.

Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia promises a musical blast worthy of wrapping up what looks to be an epic summer of festivals

Need some plans for Labor Day 2018 weekend? Philadelphia's Made In America fest looks like the place to be, following the announcement of its performer lineup for Sept. 1–2, with Nicki Minaj and Post Malone headlining.

As if the headliners weren't enough enticement, Meek Mill will make his first hometown Philly performance since his release from incarceration. GRAMMY winners joining the fun include Alessia Cara, Diplo, Miguel, and Zedd.

Malone collaborator Ty Dolla Sign is also part of the MIA lineup, in addition to GRAMMY nominees 6lack, Fat Joe, and Janelle Monáe. Bloodpop, Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers, and Tokimonsta are just a few of the emerging talents sure to make MIA a fitting finale for summer this Labor Day weekend.

Malone's 2018 album Beerbongs & Bentleys arrived in April and has been breaking streaming records, while Minaj's new album Queen is expected on June 15. The song "Ball For Me" on Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys features Minaj and was co-written by them with producer Louis Bell.

VIP and Tidal pre-sale tickets are available now. Visit the festival's website for more ticket information.

As the movie Black Panther and Kendrick Lamar's curated Black Panther: The Album continue to make inroads, more tracks have hit the Billboard Hot 100, while Black Panther: The Album hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the week ending Feb. 15.

In the most recent tally on Feb. 24, two songs were on the Hot 100 from the previous week — "Pray For Me," combining Lamar with The Weeknd, at No. 11, while "King's Dead" moved from No. 69 up to No. 38, blending Lamar with James Blake, Future and Jay Rock.

Lamar and SZA's "All The Stars" entered the Hot 100 at position No. 9. Its official video was posted on YouTube Feb. 6 and is now up to more than 27 million views. Other tracks making their first appearance include "X" at No. 49 by 2 Chainz, Saudi and Schoolboy Q. This is Saudi's personal debut on the Hot 100.

One of the love songs featured on our recent Valentine's Day playlist, "The Ways" by Khalid and Swae Lee enters at No. 63. SOB X RBE, who just announced they'd be touring with Post Malone, debut on the chart at No. 67 with their powerful "Paramedic!"

The two other Black Panther Hot 100 newcomer tracks are the catchy "Big Shot" at No. 71, with Lamar and Travis Scott, trailed by the lyrical powerhouse "Black Panther" rap of Lamar's at No. 91.

Stay tuned to see what other cultural products of Wakanda explore the Billboard charts on their own.
