Mon Laferte Wins Best Alternative Song | 18th Latin GRAMMYs
Chilean singer/songwriter Mon Laferte won Best Alternative Song for "Amárrame" featuring Juanes at the 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards.
"Hello, it's my first Latin GRAMMY. The first time ... it's fair to cry, it's the first time, yes! Thank you very much: Manú Jalil, Lalo Del Aguila and Allan — we made this record together. To all of the work team, the record company. To Juanes, for being so generous and for singing with me. I am very nervous. I don't know what else to say. Thank you very much and I am very happy, [fellow] colleagues. I feel honored that you have voted for my song. Thank you." — Mon Laferte
The win marked the first career Latin GRAMMY for Laferte. "Amárrame" is featured on La Trenza, which was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album.
The other Best Alternative Song nominees were "Antonia" — Sig Ragga, songwriter (Sig Ragga), "Apocalipsis Zombi" — Roberto Musso, songwriter (El Cuarteto De Nos), "Apocalíptico" — Rafael Arcaute & Residente, songwriters (Residente), and "Integridad" — Stephen Marley & Danay Suarez, Songwriters (Danay Suarez feat.
