"Hadestown" Wins Best Musical Theater Album | 2020 GRAMMYs
"Hadestown" has won Best Musical Theater Album at the 62nd GRAMMY Awards.
"Thank you so much for recognizing this album, which is the work of so many people," writer/composer Anaïs Mitchell said when accepting the award.
Mitchell told the Recording Academy earlier this year that people have really felt a connection to the show.
"It's a little intense sometimes because people get attached to one version of a thing, and they inevitably have feelings when that thing changes," said Mitchell. "But people have been incredibly supportive of the time it took to bring this show to Broadway. In a way people are invested in, and have really been part of, the journey itself, not just the destination. They’ve literally been part of the process."
"Hadestown" beat out nominated albums "Ain't Too Proud: The Life And Times Of The Temptations, "Moulin Rogue! The Musical," "The Music Of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child - In Four Contemporary Suites" and "Oklahoma!"
