The LBD, aka Little Black Dress, is sophisticated and classically chic but sometimes that just isn't adventurous enough. Though no wardrobe is quite complete without a LBD, that doesn't mean it has to be boring.
When thinking of how to glam up your favorite LBD, the first thing that comes to mind is bling. Red carpets, parties and photo shoots are not complete without the bling glitterati and their coordinated accessories. I have a huge penchant for bling and find it instantly propels a standard black dress into the glamorous stratosphere!
If bling isn't your thing, then you can opt to add accessories to your hairdo. I have tried everything from flowers to brightly colored fascinators, which were all equally fun.
Here are a few more tips to glam up your LBD:
Jazzy tights: By jazzy I mean funky, patterned colored tights (you name it, they print it). This can be a very daring move, but if executed right it can lead to legendary style status. I am especially fond of pink or purple tights teamed with an LBD.
Lipstick: Lipstick is an LBD's best friend. Go for bright colors that pop for an extra glam effect. Personally, I love bright pink or bright orange. As an added plus, they also make your teeth look whiter!
Bag it: A bold and sexy clutch bag can do wonders to glam up an LBD, especially if teamed with impeccably painted nails.
The LBD as an individual piece is definitely still alive, it's just fun to keep it up-to-date, adventurous and, of course, glamorous!
