Fifth Beatle George Martin's Film Scores To Be Released
The album will feature music written by Martin for films like Yellow Submarine and Live And Let Die as well as previously unreleased scores, orchestral works and original compositions, according to Rolling Stone.
Martin was an absolute visionary, and while his incomparable work on Beatles albums brought his musical genius to the world, it also overshadowed his other projects at times. Conductor Craig Leon and the Berlin Music Ensemble brought many of these projects to life with this new collection of recordings.
The story of how these pieces were revisited, and in some cases unearthed, is featured in a short documentary posted by Atlas Realisations, the label releasing the project along with Pias Classics.
"I wouldn't have even had the life I had if George Martin hadn't done what he did," Leon says of Martin's influence. "He bridged the gap between an interpretive producer and a creative producer, which was the thing that I wanted to do."
The new album will also see a double vinyl LP edition release in January 2018.
