Erykah Badu, Janelle Monaé Set To Headline 2018 Afropunk Festival
"Resist. Agitate. Activate." That's the theme behind 2018's Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn, N.Y. With its all-star lineup, politically forward message and innovative Buy One, Give One ticketing policy, there couldn't be a more fitting theme.
While Afropunk is held at venues around the globe, including Atlanta, Paris, London, and Johannesburg, the headliners for the Brooklyn edition of the annual two-day festival have been set. Erykah Badu, Janelle Monaé and Tyler, The Creator will headline, with additional performances by Miguel, the Internet, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez, Lion Babe, and Jaden and Willow Smith.

Afropunk will be held at Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene Aug. 25–26. Tickets are available via the festival's website, and this year organizers have instated a Buy One, Give One ticketing system. For each general admission ticket that is purchased, the festival will donate one ticket to a young New Yorker participating in art programs like Recess Art and Young New Yorkers so they can also attend the festival.
If you're closer to Atlanta and want to attend that version of Afropunk, festival producers have also announced the initial lineup for the Oct. 13–14 event, which will include N.E.R.D, Noname, Little Simz, and Kari Faux, with additional names to be announced.
