Earth, Wind & Fire To Honor Prince With Their Version Of "Adore" For "Let's Go Crazy" Tribute
Backstage during the filming of "Let's Go Crazy: The GRAMMY Salute To Prince," we caught up with Earth, Wind & Fire's Verdine White, Ralph Johnson and Philip Bailey to talk about the life and legacy of the late, great Prince.
As it turns out the six-time GRAMMY-winning R&B/funk legends share some special musical memories and career crossover through the years.
"Actually, and Prince have a litle history together with our managers, back in the day," said Bailey. "There were several people that were connected to both bands, and he was watching Earth, Wind & Fire, and we were doing our thing, so it's very special to be here tonight."
For the "Let's Go Crazy..." special, Earth, Wind & Fire performed "Adore," a deep cut album-closer off Prince's 1987 Sign "O" The Times.
"It was never a single," Johnson recalled. "But it's a great song."
Don't miss Earth, WInd & Fire's tribute performance, plus many more, as part of "Let's Go Crazy: The GRAMMY Salute To Prince." airing on Tuesday, April 21, the four-year anniversary of Prince's death, from 9–11PM ET/PT on CBS and streaming on CBS All Access.
