The 2018 Teen Choice Awards announced many of their nominees on June 13, putting an array of America's most beloved entertainers up for popular voting that is now open and sure to be extremely viral.

For some quick tastes from the top categories, Choice Female Artist nominees are Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato, and Taylor Swift. This year's Choice Male Artists include Drake, Niall Horan, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, and Louis Tomlinson. Those are great selections to choose from.

Voting is open either online via TeenChoice.com or by Twitter hashtag, one per Tweet by pairing a name with #ChoiceMaleArtist or #ChoiceFemaleArtist. The limit on enthusiasm is 10 votes per day, per category, for each platform user ID, a wrinkle some multiplatform fans are likely to use effectively. Among other things, for the musical artists, this really is a chance for their fan bases to show their love.

Get ready to move those thumbs — voting is officially OPEN for the 2018 #TeenChoice Awards! Submit your vote by tweeting with the category hashtag the name/handle of your choice, or head here: https://t.co/vqru7XJP9J pic.twitter.com/OwC0bx0kWh

        — Teen Choice Awards (@TeenChoiceFOX) June 13, 2018

The competition in each category is interesting, for example Choice Latin Artist nominated J Balvin, Becky G, CNCO, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, and Maluma. J Balvin is super fresh, Becky G has many teens who identify with her, and Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi had last summer's biggest hit.

So the viral chase is on for fans to vote their Teen Choice Awards favorites up the ranks. On August 12 the winners will be announced live on Fox.

As we quickly close in on the official start of summer, major streaming services are starting to weigh in on which songs might earn the coveted song of the summer title.

From Apple Music's perspective, Pharrell Williams and Camila Cabello are the top pick with "Sangria Wine." The saucy, bilingual title certainly evokes a chill summer backyard barbeque, complete with cooling drink in hand.

Number two on the list is Ariana Grande's lead single from her upcoming album Sweetener, "No Tears Left To Cry." The ethereal vocals take this song to the next level, and lifted it up to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is followed by Clean Bandit's "Solo" featuring Demi Lovato in the third position. A clean EDM track that centers around Lovato's vocals, it sets the perfect backdrop for a summer fling gone wrong.

Apple Music's fourth prediction belongs to Calvin Harris' "One Kiss" with Dua Lipa, another EDM entry that, according to Forbes, "plays like an homage to '90s house music." Rounding out the Top 5 is Post Malone's latest single, "Better Now."

Other artists Apple Music has their sights on this summer include Jennifer Lopez with Cardi B and DJ Khaled ("Dinero"), J. Cole ("KOD"), Childish Gambino ("This Is America"), BTS ("Fake Love"), Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin ("I Like It"), and Ella Mai ("Boo'd Up"), among others.

So what do you think? Are any of these tracks already bumping on your summer road trip playlist?

Three weeks ago NPR asked its listeners who they think are the most influential female musicians currently making waves of change. The question inspired over a thousand fans to participate in the poll and on Nov. 20, they shared the top 25 artists from the responses, which put GRAMMY winners Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Taylor Swift in the top five, along with more current-day sheroes, among them fellow GRAMMY winners Lorde, Amy Winehouse and St. Vincent and GRAMMY nominees Janelle Monáe, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.

The list also includes GRAMMY winners P!nk, Alicia Keys and Adele and GRAMMY nominees Florence + the Machine, Sia, Halsey, Cardi B, Kesha, Kehlani, Demi Lovato, Lana Del Rey and Katy Perry.

NPR highlighted that while most of these talented artists fall under the umbrella of popstars, their style and influence is far from cookie-cutter, with authenticity playing a prominent role in responders' answers. In NPR's words: "While the majority of the artists you picked are pop singers, your comments show that this commonality doesn't mean they all exert influence in the same way. You remarked on artists' command of their instruments…their inventiveness around genre; their ability to be honest and authentic in their songwriting."

Others on the list include M.I.A., whose hit "Paper Planes" took over the airwaves in 2008, along with Camila Cabello, whose debut single as a solo artist took over the airwaves in 2017, as well as rising star Hayley Kiyoko, who sits at No. 4 on their list, although she only released her debut album, Expectations, earlier this year.

The poll also solicited comments from voters. "[Kiyoko] has influenced an entire new generation of youth to be comfortable with their own sexualities and does this with dreamy pop music that lifts spirits," Manpreet told NPR.

Another response pointed to the importance of Beyoncé, who took first place on the list, as a role model for young black girls. "Her mere presence is enough to encourage young black girls to strive for greatness," fan Niharika Palakodety said. "She doesn't shy away from saying things as they are, and her focus on every detail of her music makes it that much more important."

The superstar herself seems deeply aware of this, which she reflected on during her acceptance speech for Best Urban Contemporary Album for her groundbreaking Lemonade at the 59th GRAMMY Awards. A then-pregnant, glowing-goddess Beyoncé shared during the show:

"It's important to me to show images to my children that reflect their beauty, so they can grow up in a world where they look in the mirror, first through their own families, as well as the news, the Super Bowl, the Olympics, the White House and the GRAMMYs, and see themselves and have no doubt that they're beautiful, intelligent and capable. This is something I want for every child of every race."

It's that time again. On July 16 MTV Video Music Awards announced its 2018 slate of nominees.

Leading the pack this year with 10 nominations are new mom Cardi B and seasoned parents the Carters — aka Beyoncé and Jay-Z — with a total of eight nominations. Childish Gambino and Drake racked up seven nods each, Bruno Mars earned six and Ariana Grande and Camila Cabello follow close behind with five total nominations.

The MTV VMAs are awarded in a variety of categories such as Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. Genre-based awards in pop, hip-hop, Latin, dance, and rock are also awarded. Notably, fans are eligible to vote in eight of these categories, including Best Collaboration and Video with a Message through Aug. 10, while voting for Best New Artist will stay open until the telecast airs.

"It has already been a monumental year in music, and this year's VMAs will take things to a whole new level," said Bruce Gillmer, head of music and music talent, Global Entertainment Group, Viacom. "The extraordinary group of nominees have amazed us with their talent and inspired us with their creativity — and when you get them together for one night, anything is possible."

The VMAs will take place on Aug. 20 at Radio City Music Hall,, which was the home of the inaugural VMAs in 1984. This year's show will mark the 12th time the telecast makes its way to the iconic Big Apple venue.

The Billboard streaming songs chart dated Feb. 10 shows GRAMMY Effect gains for many of the performances seen on the 60th GRAMMY Awards telecast.

Bruno Mars' "Finesse" from his Album Of The Year GRAMMY-winning 24K Magic had its best streaming week ever, breaking 40 million. Cardi B's featured spot on the remix version of the track helped bolster the GRAMMY performance on YouTube, which has 18 million views already and helped the song to its record-breaking streams.

Another song that did well in several different versions is "Despacito," the Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee original and their remix with Justin Bieber had a 9 percent increase in streams moving from position 30 to 24, again boosted by their performance at the 60th GRAMMYs.

The show's closing number, Logic's "1-800-273-8255," featuring Best New Artist winner Alessia Cara and nominee Khalid, jumped 15 percent in total streams and 47 percent on YouTube.

The GRAMMY Effect has also made itself felt on download sales of performances and on Billboard album charts, once again demonstrating that people are moved by great music when they get a chance to experience it.
