Cage The Elephant, Anderson .Paak to play new Memphis music festival
It's home to Elvis Presley's Graceland and considered the birthplace of rock and roll. And this fall Memphis, Tenn., will give birth to a new music festival.
Hosted at Shelby Farms Park, one of the largest urban parks in the United States, the festival promises to offer attendees a heavy dose of nature-based activities such as biking, hiking, canoeing, zip-lining, and horseback riding alongside each day's musical offerings. Mempho will also offer culinary delights in the form of craft beer, wine and Memphis-style barbeque.
In addition to the headliners, performers will include Robert Randolph And The Family Band, Cold War Kids, Bishops Briggs, and Hard Working Americans, and Dan Luke And The Raid.
The city's rich music history will also be represented via tribute performances by legendary Stax Records guitarist Steve Cropper, who will appear with his band, Steve Cropper & Friends. Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Booker T. Jones will take the stage with his group, Booker T. Presents: A Stax Revue, offering a "journey through soul, blues, and R&B."
