BTS Recreate GRAMMY Awards Show With Vibrant “Dynamite” Performance | 2021 GRAMMY Awards Show
Even though they couldn't be there in person, BTS took over the 2021 GRAMMYs stage as they closed out the show their inescapable feel-good hit, “Dynamite”.
The song’s title is indicative of the boy band’s career trajectory, carving out a place in history when “Dynamite” became the first chart-topper by an all-South Korean act. All seven members rose to the celebratory occasion as they transformed Seoul, Korea into a spot-on replica of downtown Los Angeles since they couldn’t attend the ceremony.
BTS’ performance began underneath a ceiling of roses before they showcased sharp choreography on stage. They soon danced their way backstage (fireworks included) before heading upstairs to take over the building’s roof. It was an exciting way to cap off a night of strong performances.
The K-pop act previously made its debut during 2020’s ceremony alongside Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, Diplo and Nas. This year, BTS made history as the first K-pop act to earn a GRAMMY nomination, where “Dynamite” was up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
