BTS Asks Fans To Share Memories With A New Database, Titled "ARMYPEDIA"
If you've heard anything about K-pop superstars BTS, then you've also heard about their huge, loyal following, or, as they call themselves, ARMY. Given that the ARMY is not only enormous but also deeply knowledgeable about their favorite seven idols, they are the perfect recruits to help create a crowdsourced database of all things BTS. Now, with the new ARMYPEDIA site, they can put all of their BTS-related wisdom to good use and even archive their special memories too.

Last night—technically on Feb. 22 at noon Korea Standard Time—a new Twitter account shared the news of the database. It was promptly retweeted by BTS, and the ARMY wasted no time taking action on the global scavenger hunt to activate the site. The ARMYPEDIA hashtag has been trending on Twitter as fans share in the excitement, causing the platform to create a special emoji to mirror the database's logo.
As the new site explains, there are exactly 2,080 "puzzle pieces" with QR codes to find across the world and internet, each unlocking a different date on BTS' timeline since their debut on June 13, 2013. Counting from BTS' start to the day prior to ARMYPEDIA's launch marks 2,080 days, hence the number of clues.
Physical clues can be found in Seoul, Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York City, London, Paris and Hong Kong and have been found by excited fans on billboards, buses and more. Once a fan finds one and scans the QR code on their phone they will be prompted to answer a question about BTS specific to the corresponding date. If they answer the question correctly, they can post any information about the K-pop group specific to that day or, as the site explains, "your own special memory of BTS that happened on that date."

Once all the codes have been scanned and information has been crowdsourced for each of the 2,080 days, ARMYPEDIA will be ready for the rest of the world. A tutorial with complete details on how to participate can be found here. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
