Adele Producer Greg Kurstin Launches Publishing Venture
GRAMMY-winning producer Greg Kurstin has entered into an agreement with Sony/ATV to launch a joint publishing venture, according to a Billboard report. The Los Angeles native has also extended his own worldwide deal with the publishing company.
Kurstin’s first signings to the new venture, No Expectations Publishing, include songwriter Jesse Shatkin, his former engineer who co-wrote Kelly Clarkson's new single, "Love So Soft," and songwriter/producer Wendy Wang, who co-wrote and produced "Everything" for Superfruit.
"With both Wendy and Jesse, it became clear it was the natural thing to do, to sign their publishing and to help push their careers to new levels," Kurstin told Billboard, while adding that he is looking for future signees. "I really like listening to their tracks and giving them feedback. With Jesse, Wendy and future signees, I see us working together as a team. I'm continually inspired by them."
These moves follow Kurstin's four wins at the 59th GRAMMY Awards for Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical and Album, Song and Record Of The Year for Adele's 25 and "Hello." Kurstin has also worked with artists such as Clarkson, Pink, Sia, Ellie Goulding, and more recently, Foo Fighters and Niall Horan.
