UPDATE: See the full list of 61st GRAMMY Nominations
GRAMMY season will be here before we know it, and now's the time to mark your calendars. On July 17, the Recording Academy announced all the dates you'll want to know. First and foremost, the 61st GRAMMY Awards, Music's Biggest Night, will be broadcast live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Nominations for the 61st GRAMMYs will be announced in all 84 categories on Dec. 5, which includes recordings released between Oct. 1, 2017, and Sept. 30, 2018.
In the week leading up to Music's Biggest Night, we take time out to honor the many facets of our music community. GRAMMY Week will officially kick off Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, with the annual Producers & Engineers Wing GRAMMY Week celebration. We'll celebrate music education on Feb. 7 with the Music Educator Award presentation and the concert GRAMMY In The Schools Live!
On Feb. 8, we'll recognize the lawyers who help make our work as musicians possible at the Entertainment Law Initiative Event & Scholarship Presentation and recognize a music industry icon for their philanthropic efforts during the MusiCares Person of the Year gala later that evening. Feb. 9 is all about celebrating the 61st GRAMMYs with the GRAMMY Nominees Reception. The evening also includes Clive Davis' and the Recording Academy's Pre-GRAMMY Gala.
To cap off the week, on Feb. 10 the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony will honor GRAMMY winners in more than 70 categories shortly before the telecast. Following the 61st GRAMMY Awards show and broadcast, it's time to let loose with the official GRAMMY Celebration after party.
"We are delighted to host the world's premier music event back in our hometown and look forward to celebrating the remarkable musical contributions made by songwriters, producers, engineers, mixers, and recording artists," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy. "As always, GRAMMY season will kick off with a series of events that showcase various genres of music, educational programs, and our charitable initiatives. We look forward to working with our Los Angeles partners to produce some remarkable and unforgettable events."
