  • Bastille released their debut album, Bad Blood, in 2013, which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the commercially successful single "Pompeii," which rose to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
  • Did you know? The band's name refers to a French prison that was stormed and overtaken during a pivotal moment in the French Revolution. The fall of the prison is celebrated on July 14 in France as Bastille Day, which is also the birthday of band founder Dan Smith.
  • In October 2016, Bastille and film director Tom Middleton took part in a special presentation at the GRAMMY Museum to screen Help Me Make Those Seconds, a 45-minute film that chronicles the making of the band's sophomore album, Wild World. 
  • In 2014 Bastille participated in the Band Aid 30 charity recording "Do They Know It's Christmas." In 2015 the group played a special intimate benefit gig in London for 100 fans, with all proceeds supporting the War Child organization.
