Rising country/folk star Valerie June sat down with the Recording Academy backstage at Austin City Limits 2017 to discuss two songs, "Astral Plane" and "Long Lonely Road," from her newest album, The Order Of Time. Both songs exemplify, and are informed by, June's personal physical and spiritual journeys.
"It really feels like all these songs have like a spiritual journey to them," June admits. "So it could be a journey of a physical body, a person going through life, or it could be the journey of a spirit moving through time."
