During the Recording Academy's touching In Memoriam segment at the 2023 GRAMMYs, GRAMMY legends Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood and Bonnie Raitt paid tribute to fellow GRAMMY icon and late Fleetwood Mac member Christine McVie. The trio of artists performed the McVie-penned Fleetwood Mac classic "Songbird"; earlier in the day, "Songbird (Orchestral Version)," featured on Songbird (A Solo Collection), McVie's first-ever solo artist compilation released in 2022, earned Vince Mendoza, the song's arranger, a GRAMMY for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals. The 2023 In Memoriam segment also featured Kacey Musgraves honoring Loretta Lynn with a performance of "Coal Miner's Daughter" as well as Quavo and Maverick City Music paying tribute to late Migos rapper Takeoff in an emotional performance of "Without You."
