DJ Skee

DJ Skee was a recent guest for an installment of The Recording Academy's 5 Questions With … series. Held at The Academy's headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif., DJ Skee discussed his biggest career moments, current projects, the importance of social networking, and advice for aspiring artists, among other topics.

"Social networking, for what I do, is such a key thing for me being a personality," said DJ Skee, "and promoting all the different things I have going on. From my radio shows [and upcoming] concerts, [to] brands I'm working with [and] mixtapes and projects I have coming out. It's your outlet to communicate with fans and hear real-time feedback on what they like."

DJ Skee has produced and remixed tracks for artists ranging from Jay-Z to Quincy Jones, and has collaborated with Akon, Chris Cornell, the Game, and Snoop Dogg, among others. He is the host for four radio shows on Sirius XM Radio, in addition to a weekly show on KIIS-FM in Los Angeles

In 2007 DJ Skee launched Skee.TV, a production, marketing and content distribution company specializing in creative, high-production music videos and new media marketing. During GRAMMY Week last February, DJ Skee performed at Word Revolution: A Celebration Of Hip-Hop, at the 13th Annual GRAMMY Foundation Music Preservation Project. In 2010 DJ Skee appeared on Billboard magazine's Power Players: 30 Under 30 list.
