(The Dixie Chicks accept the GRAMMY for Best Country Album at the 49th GRAMMY Awards on Feb. 11, 2007, in Los Angeles.)
Natalie Maines: That's interesting. Well to quote the great Simpsons, "Ha-ha." Just kidding. A lot of people just turned their TVs off right now. I'm very sorry about that. Come on, Martie. I think I said enough.
Martie Maguire: Thank you to all the songwriters, all the musicians. Rick [Rubin]. When Rick first heard us he said that he thought we were very talented, but that people didn't take us seriously and we had bad fashion. So, I'm glad he brought us from the depths of that. And thank you. We're honored.
Emily Robison: You know it's a very strange place to be sometimes, you know, without a genre necessarily, but I think that our core fans have always stayed true to us and I want to thank them for staying with us. And we wouldn't have done this album without everything we went through, so we have no regrets. And thank you to everyone who voted for us.
