BEHIND THE RECORD MISSION: Inspire a cultural conversation while giving credit where credit is due. Liner notes were largely left behind in the evolution to digital streaming. As a result, artists are without a platform to publicly recognize the talented creators behind the music we love. Presenting Behind the Record, a global social media-based initiative that brings the names of producers, mixers, engineers, songwriters, composers and other collaborators who work behind the record to the front.

JOIN US: On October 25, SF Chapter Member artists are invited to launch their “Credit Covers” to social media over breakfast and a private shopping ‘sesh at Amoeba Music Berkeley. We’ll join the artists and collaborators they celebrate and #GiveCredit in various ways using social media tools and watching the live stream of album credit posts from across the country from artists of all genres.

HOW:

Artists: Create your custom “Credit Cover(s)” by using the Credit Cover Generator on the Recording Academy Website: www.GRAMMY.com/CreditCovers

Collaborators: Find those behind-the-scenes images from your artists and sessions.

Then drop by Amoeba the morning of October 25 to post and tag your Credit Cover on Instagram and Twitter. Tag all the creators who worked on your record(s) while inviting other artists to do the same. No cover to post? Share photos of your collaborators working behind the scenes and give a shout out to them with one of our social media messages and hashtags.

We’ll be on site from 10:30-12:30 with coffee and donuts before the team hits the road to drop in to local music venues, studios, and hangouts to bring forward those Behind The Record as we #GiveCredit around the Bay. Amoeba is opening for a private shopping session for our SF Chapter members and some surprise special guests behind iconic Bay Area recordings.

Open to Recording Academy members only from 10:30-11 a.m., open to all at 11 a.m.
