As A Mother, Making Music Means More For Melanie Fiona
At this Los Angeles Chapter "Up Close & Personal" event in 2017, held at Apogee Studio, DJ Moonbaby interviewed Melanie Fiona about her life in music, GRAMMY nominations and wins. "The collaboration with Cee Lo [Green] was almost this magical moment that was destined to happen," she said about her featured artist appearance on his single "Fool For You," which won Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song at the 54th GRAMMY Awards (2011). "I actually wrote my verse for that song in the car on the way to the studio, and I just remember taking five minutes to sit in the parking lot and really finalize it," Fiona shared. "Then I just went in and recorded it." DJ Moonbaby and Fiona were joined by songwriter/producer Andre Harris, who was making music at the event and released "Bite The Bullet" and "I Tried" with Fiona. As a mother, making music has taken on an added dimension for Fiona, who thanks her support team and believes in her ability to make life and make music.
