Growing up in the town of Breda in the Netherlands, DJ Tiësto was a home-town success story for Hardwell. "I decided to produce my album in my old bedroom where I produced all the songs back in the day," Hardwell told the Florida Chapter about his 2015 album United We Are, during Miami Music Week 2016. "I feel really confident being in that room and every single track you know from me is produced in that room since forever." He now has a pro studio in his new house, and everywhere he goes, he is mastering final versions himself. He loves the diversity in dance, noting, "It was only one particular genre." He believes the evolution keeps things "interesting, for everybody to listen to dance music." He recently completed a virtual reality 360-degree livestream with more than 10,000 simultaneous viewers and believes that is a great way to bring the concert experience to people who are still in their bedrooms, like he was in the beginning in Breda.
