In 2016 dance EDM DJ Borgeous invited the Recording Academy's Buzzin' series on set to interview him on break from his music video "Over The Edge." Nicole Pajer asked him about his success with collaborations and he revealed that his 2016 Armada release 13 was made while he was touring so it was almost entirely done over email. Although his hit "Tsunami" was bigroom, he has been exploring other styles, and spoke about how his "Ride It" collaboration with Sean Paul came about. But he is open to every combination. "A vocal can get sent to you that's a demo that somebody has worked on and then you do the beat after that, or even 'Zero Gravity' with me and Lights, I had the beat done and I just sent her the beat and she wrote the song," Borgeous explained. "Or 'Wildfire' and 'Invincible' with Julia Michaels, [we] worked on that together in Malibu in a studio session."
