Jagged Little Pill was released in 1995 and went on to win Album Of The Year and Best Rock Album at the 38th GRAMMY Awards for artist Alanis Morissette and her producer Glen Ballard. 20 years later in 2015, Morisette sat with the Recording Academy for a special look back, timed to coincide with her hit's reissue. While she has resisted 1-dimensional labels, she says, "Anger is a gorgeous force. I'll take it." As a young woman her empowering energy kept her from depression, although some executives considered her too "caustic." She figured, "They knew what they were getting into when they met me." If she could advise her younger self, she'd counter her young "survivalist soldier" spirit with the message that sometimes it's alright to lean on others for help.
