Producer/songwriter and Boardwalk Entertainment Group co-founder Evan Bogart recently visited The Recording Academy's headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif., to participate in an exclusive interview. Bogart discussed being named one of Billboard's 40 Under 40: Power Players On The Rise, creating the Writing Camp, aco-producing the forthcoming film Spinning Gold, and the legacy of his father, Neil Bogart, among other topics.

"The Writing Camp was originally meant to be a family of songwriters who looked out for each other, and it ended up becoming a writing crew," said Bogart. "As things started progressing and we started finding all these up-and-coming young writers, we decided [to] sign them to a publishing company and develop them ourselves. … For me co-writing is the magic of songwriting."

The son of the late music industry executive Neil Bogart, founder of Casablanca Records, in 2007 Evan "Kidd" Bogart founded the Writing Camp, a collective of songwriters that has co-penned songs for Beyoncé, Sean Kingston, Leona Lewis, Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, Jesse McCartney, the Pussycat Dolls, and Rihanna, among others. The Writing Camp's divisions also include publishing, production and music supervision.

In 2011 Bogart co-founded Boardwalk Entertainment Group with his brother, writer/producer/director Tim Bogart, and TV producer Gary Randall. The company, which is named after Neil Bogart's former label project, Boardwalk Records, comprises five divisions, including Boardwalk Records and Boardwalk Publishing, and its clients include such artists as MKTO, Wallpaper and ZZ Ward. In 2012 Bogart was named one of Billboard magazine's 40 Under 40: Power Players On The Rise.

Bogart is currently co-producing Spinning Gold, a biopic on his father's Casablanca Records, which helped launch the careers of Kiss, Parliament and Donna Summer, among others. The film stars GRAMMY winner Justin Timberlake and is set for release in 2013.
