Husband-and-wife folk/pop duo Elenowen were among the artists who performed at The Recording Academy Nashville Chapter's recent 14th Annual GRAMMY Block Party & Membership Celebration. In an exclusive interview with GRAMMY.com, Elenowen's Josh Johnson and Nicole Johnson discussed their debut EP, first concert experiences, their musical education, and performing on "The Voice," among other topics.

"It's much more of a focused sound, it's more singer/songwriter kind of folk rock," said Josh Johnson regarding Elenowen's new self-titled EP. "We went through a lot of rediscovery and trying to hone in on what our sound really is. This record kind of perfectly captures that in five songs."

Josh Johnson and Nicole Johnson initially met in 2003 as solo performers on the Nashville music scene. The duo cultivated a love relationship as well as a mutual passion for writing and performing music together. The duo married in 2008 and two years later chronicled the ups and downs of their relationship in the eight songs comprising their independently released debut album, Pulling Back The Veil. In 2011 Elenowen made their TV premiere, performing as contestants under mentor Blake Shelton on "The Voice." The duo subsequently inked a deal with Dualtone Music Group and released a five-song self-titled EP in May. The EP reached No. 27 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.
