GRAMMY-winning artist Melissa Etheridge was featured at The Recording Academy's sophomore installment of its GRAMMY Artists Revealed series, presented by MasterCard, on June 21.

Taking place at Hard Rock Cafe New York in Times Square, the event showcased Etheridge in an intimate setting, performing a lively acoustic set spanning her longstanding career as well as brief stories and anecdotes about each song. Songs performed included GRAMMY-winning Etheridge hits "Ain't It Heavy" and "Come To My Window," and Janis Joplin songs "Me And Bobby McGee" and "Piece Of Your Heart." Etheridge shared a poignant moment when she spoke about beating cancer and performing the latter song onstage at the 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2005. Etheridge also performed the title track to her latest studio album, Fearless Love.

One of music's top female rock icons, Etheridge emerged as one of the most popular recording artists of the '90s with a mix of confessional lyrics, pop-based folk rock and gritty vocals. Fearless Love, her 10th studio album, was released on April 27, and reflects music that still embodies much of what fans have come to anticipate from Etheridge — soaring melodies, her bold, expressive voice, and plenty of musical, lyrical and emotional drama.

Delivered through a partnership with MasterCard, GRAMMY Artists Revealed — launched by The Recording Academy in 2009 with a show featuring GRAMMY winner Pat Benatar — gives music fans the opportunity to see their favorite artist perform songs from their catalog in an up-close-and-personal, storyteller-style format, and allows artists to share anecdotes about their musical journey to the GRAMMYs.
