Legendary rock singer/songwriter Dave Mason leads a lineup of some of music's most recongizable names and voices in a new video that promises to uplift. Take a look and listen:
Dave Mason & The Quarantines's new at-home rendition of "Feelin' Alright" features Mason, Mick Fleetwood, Sammy Hagar, Michael McDonald and John McFee, Tom Johnston & Pat Simmons from the Doobie Brothers.
Written by Mason, "Feelin' Alright" first appeared on Traffic's 1968 self-titled album, and was covered by everyone from Joe Cocker to Gladys Knight & the Pips to Three Dog Night to the Jackson 5. This lively version, driven by McDonald's piano line and the thunderous thump of Fleetwood's drums, provides a fresh take on an instantely recognizable rock classic.
The song and official video also call for donations for viewers to open their hearts and wallets to donate to MusiCares. Along with the Recording Academy, MusiCares established the MusiCares COVID-19 Releif Fund to help music creators and professionals affected by the Coronavirus crisis. Thanks to support from various artists, organizations and charities, the fund has raised millions so far, but much more is needed.
