Pickathon’s 60 Concerts in 60 Days: Margo Price, Drive-By Truckers, Tank And The Bangas, Ex Hex & More
With the masses stuck inside under quarantine as we fight together to flatten the COVID-19 curve, Pickathon has announced its new ‘A Concert A Day’ series of livestreamed performances from artists including Margo Price, Drive-By Truckers, Tank & The Bangas, Tyler Childers, Mac Demarco, Foxygen and more.
Featuring 60 concerts in 60 days beginning tomorrow, April 8, Pickathon will open its extensive vault of never-before-seen video content for the live streams. Benefits from the initiative will support musicians and artist communities during this time of hardship through the MusiCares COVID-19 Releif Fund, established by the Recording Academy and MusiCares to help music creators and professionals affected by the coronavirus crisis.
Upon launch, concerts from previous festivals will premiere every day at 1 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time via Facebook Premiere with the Recording Academy, Amazon Music’s Twitch Channel or on YouTube as part of their Stay Home #WithMe initiative. In collaboration with the Recording Academy, the ‘A Concert A Day’ Facebook event will host the premieres plus sit downs with the performing artists or a renowned journalist.
Kicking off the programming lineup for the series is Drive-By Truckers’ 2017 performance at Pickathon Festival’s Mt. Hood Stage. Following this week’s opening installment, fans can expect Ex Hex (Thurs., April 9), Tyler Childers (Fri., April 10), and Charles Bradley (Sat., April 11) performances in the days following. Rounding out the week one schedule, performances from Tank & The Bangas, Damien Jurado, People Under the Stairs and DakhaBrakha will stream each day from Sunday through Wednesday, April 15.
The concert streams will continue throughout the 60-day duration of the program, as Pickathon moves from an annual festival to a year-round content production hub. Each stage at Pickathon is planned like an independent film with, “Architects and visual artists creating one-of-a-kind experiences that drive the artists to career best performances which are rendered in multi-camera HD and subsequently released year-round,” according to a statement.
Pickathon Music Festival is still set to take place July 30 – August 2 in Happy Valley, Oregon. Ticket purchases and the full festival lineup are available here.
