Auction offers celebrity-signed memorabilia to benefit MusiCares
The latest offerings from the GRAMMY Charity Online Auctions are currently available, running from July 18 – 27 at www.ebay.com/grammy. The auction features an array of exclusive, celebrity-signed music memorabilia and VIP experiences. All proceeds raised through this online fundraising event will benefit MusiCares, which provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need. MusiCares' services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies, and each case is treated with integrity and confidentiality. MusiCares also focuses the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare of the music community.
Featured items on the auction block include: Gibson and Epiphone guitars signed by Madonna and Zakk Wylde; a catered, luxury AEG suite for a Clippers game (accommodates 24 guests); a variety of sports memorabilia signed by Muhammad Ali, the L.A. Clippers, Eric Gagne, Franco Harris, Tommy Lasorda, and Curt Schilling as well as musical artists including Eve, Joey Fatone and Alicia Keys; one-of-a-kind Nixon LTD "Rocker" collection watches made of leather from the personal wardrobes of Steve Earle, Peter Frampton, and Anthony Kiedis; a Casio Privia keyboard autographed by dozens of celebrity participants backstage at the 48th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast; a Slingerland snare drum signed backstage at the 2nd Annual MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert by celebrity participants including members of Alice In Chains, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Metallica and Velvet Revolver; a Morongo VIP package including an exclusive two-night getaway and one-year membership to the Key Club at Morongo; and a 49th GRAMMY Awards Ultimate VIP Experience package.
Since 2001, GRAMMY Charity Online Auctions have served as a significant fundraising program as well as an efficient outreach tool for MusiCares. The program has grown from a once-a-year auction to a multi-auction campaign with an ongoing store presence on eBay and annual revenue that has achieved a 586 percent increase since its inception.
