Ed Sheeran: MusiCares House Concert Benefits Hurricane Relief
GRAMMY winner Ed Sheeran performed at a private House Concert on Sept. 25 in New York City, hosted by MusiCares Board Chairman Michael McDonald, his wife Rebecca Wright, and Chase and Stephanie Coleman. The singer/songwriter performed an exclusive hour-long set, including hits such as his chart-topping smash "Shape Of You," GRAMMY-nominated songs "The A Team" and "Love Yourself" (which he co-wrote for Justin Bieber), and the GRAMMY-winning "Thinking Out Loud."
The event netted approximately $350,000, a record-breaking amount of revenue for a MusiCares House Concert. The money raised from Sheeran's House Concert will be contributed to MusiCares' hurricane relief efforts to help support members of the music community affected by the recent devastation of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
Hurricane relief assistance includes basic living expenses such as shelter, food, utilities, and transportation; medical expenses, including doctor and hospital bills, and medications; clothing; instrument and recording equipment replacement; relocation costs; home repairs; debris removal; and much more.
