RICHARD "WOLFIE" WOLF
Emmy Award-winning composer, multi-Platinum-selling music producer and author Richard “Wolfie” Wolf has worked on projects with Prince, Bell Biv DeVoe, Freddie Mercury, MC Lyte, and Coolio, as well as hundreds of TV and film soundtracks including NCIS, Bojack Horseman, Oprah and the NFL. Wolf started practicing Zen meditation as a teen and his class at USC on the harmonies between Music & Mindfulness is the first on a university level to demonstrate how the different practices can interact and strengthen each other. His book “In Tune: Music As The Bridge To Mindfulness” was written up in The New Yorker -which called it “a manual for achieving calm in a tumultuous world ” - Parade, Mindful Magazine, Spirituality & Health and others, and is the basis for the podcast “Wolf In Tune”.
Meet Our Guest Panelist:
Ricky Bell is a member of the R&B Pop supergroup New Edition and the offshoot trio Bell Biv DeVoe. Ricky greeted pop stardom early in his teen years with New Edition’s first of 16 TopTen Hits, “Candy Girl” in 1983. His followup group, Bell Biv DeVoe gained massive success in the early 90s for their innovative combination of pop, R&b, and hip-hop, and multi-platinum hits like “Poison” and “Do Me!”. New Edition has enjoyed a recent resurgence with the three part BET movie “ The New Edition Story”. Ricky is currently releasing music as a solo artist and scheduled to tour arenas worldwide this summer. He is very open and honest about his battles with drug addiction during the major highs and lows of his musical career, and emphasizes the importance of prayer, meditation, mindfulness and gratitude practices in his recovery.
