Please join the Chicago Chapter of The Recording Academy, MusiCares and Shure Incorporated for this special educational event featuring Dr. Heather Bentley, audiologist at Sensaphonics; Lyndia Johnson, executive director/voice coach at Sterling Voice Coaching, Ltd.; and H. Steven Sims, M.D., director of the Chicago Institute for Voice Care.
The panel will educate the recording industry, producers and recording artists about the importance of proper vocal development and maintenance, as well as proper hearing protection and conservation.
The evening will begin with a comprehensive lecture on human voice pathology, vocal techniques and coaching as a highly effective means of gaining insight into proper singing, prevention of vocal problems such as hoarseness and vocal fatigue, and increasing beauty and stamina without compromising vocal style. The panelists will then speak about the damaging effects of noise-induced hearing loss, the risk factors, and preventive measures, including a demonstration of personal in-ear monitors.
RSVP is required and space is limited. To RSVP, please e-mail RSVP_Chicago@grammy.com or contact the Chicago Chapter at 312.786.1121.
