As part of our ongoing efforts to address the problems of addiction in the music industry, MusiCares will focus on the topic of relapse and relapse prevention at a series of panels during National Recovery Month.

The first panel will take place Sept. 22 at The Recording Academy headquarters (3030 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90404) from 6–7:30 p.m. To RSVP, call 310.581.8734 or e-mail brettb@grammy.com.

A second panel will take place in Nashville on Sept. 24 at the Nashville Chapter (1904 Wedgewood Ave., Nashville, TN 37212) from 2–3:30 p.m. The panelists will be Dr. Pete Harris, Ph.D., private practitioner and addiction expert; John Hiatt, GRAMMY-nominated recording artist; and Will Radford, clinical director, Cumberland Heights Treatment facility. MusiCares, in conjunction with Jessie Trice Community Health Center, will offer complete dental cleanings, screenings and exams to low-income music professionals in need of these services. The treatments will be provided free of charge to pre-screened, pre-approved music professionals, upon establishing eligibility.
