In 2020 the music community has faced one of the most difficult years in its history. Beyond financial strain, cancelled tours and recordings have led to additional emotional strain. The challenge of mental health for the music community, however, is not a new one. 73% of independent artists report symptoms of anxiety or depression, and the industry that supports them struggles with an ecosystem of mental health challenges as well. This panel will explore how the music community can improve this mental health ecosystem and culture. The panel will present multiple viewpoints representing the mental health experiences of this community, as well as explore pathways and resources toward healing and support.

On Thursday, October 15, 2020, the Recording Academy will once again recognize and provide a platform to give credit where credit is due with Behind the Record, a global social media initiative aimed to spotlight the many producers, engineers, songwriters, mixers, instrumentalists and other creators who contribute to the music recording process.

Last year, tens of thousands of creators and collaborators were recognized for helping bring music to life. This year, Behind the Record doubles-down on the efforts by organizing a petition to send to Digital Music Service Providers calling on them to include and display song and album credits across all of their platforms. Visit GRAMMY.com/BehindTheRecord for more info.

Join the movement by signing up at GRAMMY.com/CreditCovers to be notified as soon as the Credit Cover Generator and Petition go live.
