In celebration of World Voice Day on April 19, the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary Voice and Swallowing Institute and MusiCares are co-sponsoring free voice screenings for professional singers. An individualized, comprehensive physical examination and videostroboscopy to diagnose vocal problems and assess injury risk will be conducted and practical tips for maintaining optimal vocal health will be shared.
Medical tests and services will be provided by Michael Pitman, MD, internationally recognized expert in care of the professional voice, voice conservation and restoration; and Amy L. Cooper, MS, CCC-SLP, speech language pathologist and singing voice specialist; and MusiCares.

In Celebration of World Voice Day 2013 Osborne Head & Neck Institute and MusiCares are offering free voice screenings for professional vocalists. Without proper health coverage, access to quality vocal care can be limited and difficult to afford. That's why preventative vocal health care is critical for injury prevention. A screening exam will help to not only identify existing injuries, but also areas of concern that should be addressed before more serious issues arise.
Qualified participants will receive an individual videostroboscopy to diagnose potential vocal problems and assess injury risk. Screening services will be conducted by Dr. Reena Gupta, MD FACS, director, Voice & Swallowing Center, Osborne Head & Neck Institute.

In celebration of International Noise Awareness Day 2013, Starkey Hearing Foundation and MusiCares will offer free hearing screenings for music professionals on April 24 in Santa Monica, Calif.
It's no secret that extended exposure to loud noises can lead to hearing loss. No one knows this better than musicians and others who make their living in live music. While hearing loss can't be reversed, further damage can be prevented. That's why it's important to not only take precautions to protect your hearing, but to have an annual assessment as well.
Qualified participants will receive an individual hearing test to diagnose potential problems, as well as valuable hearing protection recommendations. Screening services will be conducted by audiologists from the Starkey Hearing Foundation.
