In Celebration of World Voice Day 2013 Osborne Head & Neck Institute and MusiCares are offering free voice screenings for professional vocalists. Without proper health coverage, access to quality vocal care can be limited and difficult to afford. That's why preventative vocal health care is critical for injury prevention. A screening exam will help to not only identify existing injuries, but also areas of concern that should be addressed before more serious issues arise.
Qualified participants will receive an individual videostroboscopy to diagnose potential vocal problems and assess injury risk. Screening services will be conducted by Dr. Reena Gupta, MD FACS, director, Voice & Swallowing Center, Osborne Head & Neck Institute.
Appointments must be made in advance through MusiCares. Signups and pre-qualification will be conducted at the MusiCares vocal workshop in Santa Monica, Calif., on April 6. For more information, or to register for the workshop call 800.687.4227or register online.
To qualify for a free vocal screening an individual must be a vocalist/musician with at least five years of professional music career history, or at least six commercially released recording credits. Priority will be given to attendees of the MusiCares vocal health workshop on April 6.
