Please join MusiCares and members of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center Cancer Genetics Team, Dr. Tuya Pal and Katie Lang, to debunk myths and learn the real facts about the power of genetic testing and how it can help individuals better understand their risk for cancer, beyond breast cancer.

March is Colorectal Awareness month and there isn’t a better time to sit down and discuss the realities of what genetic testing is, the different types of genetic testing, what it can and cannot tell you about your current and future cancer risks, and how it can positively impact your life.

Discussion will include an overview of recreational genetic tests such as 23&me, including what information it gives, and why it is not a substitute for those who really want to learn about their inherited cancer risks. You will learn who is considered high risk and might consider testing, and why and how genetic testing could impact you.

After the presentation, stick around for an opportunity to discuss and ask questions from the presenters and those who have been tested.
