June 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of annual LGBTQ+ Pride traditions. June, coined as Pride Month, is a time to recognize the impact LGBTQ+ people have had in the world. Pride Month is also an opportunity to peacefully protest and raise political awareness of current issues facing the community. Join us for a series of conversations of like-minded peers speaking on navigating the industry as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, covering topics ranging from the journey of coming out and self-acceptance to how the Recording Academy can better serve this music community.

CLICK HERE to view the recording of Care for the Culture that took place on June 25th.

Join us for a conversation with Recording Academy’s leadership, wellness experts, community thought leaders, and industry innovators around wellness and the needs of rap, R&B, and Reggae genre music creators and professionals.

Care For The Culture was spearheaded by the Los Angeles Chapter’s Rap, R&B, and Reggae Leadership Collective. This dialogue hopes to address the impact of current challenges through topics such as mental health, adapting one's craft given the effects of the pandemic, the creator’s voice in the fight against racial injustice, and how to promote care given these stressors on the culture.
