Ryan Cassata Celebrates Queer Love On "Bamboo Plants" | TRANScendent Sounds Fest 2020
Award-winning singer-songwriter, actor and performer Ryan Cassata performs "Bamboo Plants" for GRAMMY.com's inaugural TRANScendent Sounds Fest. Featured on his 2020 album, The Witches Made Me Do It, "Bamboo Plants" is a dreamy guitar-pop lullaby celebrating the beauty of queer love.
Based in Los Angeles, Cassata is an acclaimed musician, published writer, LGBTQ+ activist and motivational speaker. In 2019, he received the ASCAP Foundation Mariana and Paul Williams Sunlight Of The Spirit Award, which is presented to an individual who is exemplary in recovery and in music creativity, for his song "Jupiter."
Presented by GRAMMY.com, TRANScendent Sounds Fest (TSF) is a virtual music festival spotlighting a diverse roster of Transgender artists. While TSF is meant to serve as a celebration, it also brings awareness to the ever-present social hurdles of the community at large and the disproportionate levels of violence that specifically harm Black Trans women.
