Watch: Blink-182 Release "Generational Divide" Video From Forthcoming New Album
GRAMMY-nominated pop-punk stalwarts Blink-182 have released their latest single,"Generational Divide," from their much-anticipated forthcoming eighth studio album.
The follow-up to California will be a lot of fast punk, Mark Hoppus told Radio.com, and "Generational Divide" is a brief testament to that. The 50-second video, directed by Kevin Kerslake, features the band in a room full of posters with Hoppus asking, "Is It Better, Is It Better Now/ Are We Better, Are We Better Now?"
Hoppus also gave some insight on what the new album will be like in the Radio.com interview: "I think we're taking everything that we've done in the past and building on it. Which is what we want to always be doing," he said. The album will be more experimental than some past material."
"It’s not like you’re listening and thinking, 'Oh I’ve heard that before, oh I can compare this to this other song,'" drummer Travis Barker told Billboard. "With this album we’re reestablishing new songs, new rhythms, new ideas."
There is no album release date yet. The trio is touring with Lil' Wayne this summer.
