Just hours after large golden heads of Travis Scott mysteriously appeared in Los Angeles, Houston and New York, the GRAMMY-nominated rapper announced his long-anticipated solo album, Astroworld, will land on earth Aug. 3.

Scott broke the news via his Twitter account, complete with a trailer for the album with the subtitle "Stargazing." The video, which was directed by Nabil, shows Scott wandering through a dystopian-looking world rife with snow and majestic planets. It's both a little like this world and very much out of this world as he raps, "We propelling, on top with Ellen."

Astroworld is Scott's first solo project since his 2016 LP, Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight, though he has worked on many collaborations since then. Earlier this year the rapper also released the track "Watch," featuring Kanye West and Lil Uzi Vert.

Some of the money will reportedly go to a program in which students will recreate Michelle Obama's ‘Milly’ gown

As platinum album ASTROWORLD and its tour continue to see success, Travis Scott hasn't forgotten about where he comes from.

The "SICKO MODE" rapper has donated $100,000 to Workshop Houston, an arts-based educational youth development agency in his hometown of Houston, the Houston Chronicle reports.

According to the Chronicle, some of the money will go to a fashion design program (students will reportedly recreate Michelle Obama's ‘Milly’ gown) and a drone racing competition.

Scott learned about the agency when they participated in his Astroworld festival, an event featuring a Ferris wheel and other carnival games in what used to be the Six Flags Astroworld theme park. Scott hopes to have the festival every year.

ASTROWORLD itself is an ode to Houston and the theme park. "[ASTROWORLD] might be the best music that I made. I have two records on the album that are like, man, they are the best," Scott told GQ in 2017. "They tore down 'AstroWorld' to build more apartment space. That’s what it’s going to sound like, like taking an amusement park away from kids. We want it back. We want the building back. That’s why I’m doing it. It took the fun out of the city.”

Some of what makes festivals so unforgettable are the performances by newcomers and emerging artists. With many more expected on Firefly's multiple stages, a few who we've written about or spoken to include Alison Wonderland, Brockhampton, Dashboard Confessional, GRiZ, Kygo, Gucci Mane, Jessie Reyez, Snail Mail, Walk The Moon, and Young The Giant.

For your chance to see what makes "the east coast's largest music and camping festival" unforgettable at The Woodlands beside Dover International Speedway, tickets and special packages go on sale Friday Dec. 14 at the Firefly Festival website.

Cardi B; Drake; Kendrick Lamar with Jay Rock, Future and James Blake; Anderson .Paak; Travis Scott with Drake, Big Hawk and Swae Lee — who would you choose?

The musical messages in the 61st GRAMMY Awards Best Rap Performance category examine life from many angles. Cardi B's romantic warning "Be Careful" lets potential partners know their love should be consistent, or else.

Meanwhile, in "Nice For What," Drake doubts assurances of support once it's time to come through.

And the team of Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Future and James Blake brought us "King's Dead," urging that presumptuousness is not advisable and giving a shout-out to Marvel's Killmonger.

Finally, Anderson .Paak's "Bubblin" celebrates a fountain of cash and its implications for living, and Travis Scott, along with Drake, Big Hawk and Swae Lee, takes us into "Sicko Mode": another dimension of playing for keeps.
