Spice Girls To Release 25th Anniversary Edition Of Their Debut Album 'Spice' In October 2021
It's time to "Spice Up Your Life" again. English pop darlings Spice Girls are prepping a special edition of their debut album, Spice, to celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of their breakthrough release.
Set for release Oct. 29 via UMe/EMI, Spice25 will release as an expanded deluxe edition formatted on a two-CD set, Digital eAlbum, cassettes, and vinyl.
Highlighted with singles "2 Become 1" and "Say You'll Be There" on Dolby Atmos audio, Spice25 will include demos of unreleased songs like "Feed Your Love," "Take Me Home" and more.
Fans can also purchase exclusive limited-edition color vinyl with cover artwork of their favorite Spice Girls member, with a two-CD hardback booklet and postcards of photographs taken by famed U.K. photographer Tim Roney.
Originally released in 1996, Spice spent 15 weeks at No. 1 on the Official Charts U.K. Album Chart and also topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling more than 23 million copies worldwide, according to a press release announcing Spice25. Certified 10-times platinum in the U.K. and 7-times platinum in the U.S., Spice later became the best-selling album by a girl group of all time.
Through a blend of pop, hip-hop and dance styles, Spice revolutionized the teen pop genre in the late-'90s and early aughts, with the Spice Girls going on to sell more than 90 million records globally and influencing generations of millennial girl groups through their Girl Power brand.
"Whoever you are, whatever your dreams – live them, be them. The Spice Girls motto is testament to that," Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell said in a statement announcing Spice25.
