Sleater-Kinney and Wilco have announced a joint tour that will take them across the U.S. this summer.

The It's Time tour will launch on Aug. 6 in Spokane, Wash., then head to Kansas City, Mo., Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston and more before its last stop in Chicago on Aug. 29. NNAMDÏ will join the bands on select dates.

The bands made the announcement today, March 10, via a fun video on social media that had comedienne and Sleater-Kinney singer/guitarist Carrie Brownstein showing off her skills.

In another tweet, the "Dig Me Out" band said they are "psyched" to tour with Wilco, who released their latest album Ode To Joy last year.

Sleater-Kinney released their latest album The Center Won't Hold last year after the departure of drummer Janet Weiss. Brownstein told the Recording Academy that they are focused on their future as a band: "After No Cities, I think we felt a sense of accomplishment in setting out what we'd hoped to do, which was to return to playing music in a way that wasn't nostalgia-based or playing into any sort of sentimentality, but that we knew there was sort of this next chapter of the band and that we wanted to focus on new music and moving forward," she said.

Presale tickets on sale Wednesday, March 11. For more information on the tour, go here.

Indie-rock band Sleater-Kinney have dropped a release date for their much-awaited 10th album, The Center Won't Hold. They've also released a new song: "The Future Is Here."

The Center Won't Hold is out Aug. 16, but fans can pre-order now. The band first confirmed the new album, which is being produced by GRAMMY winner St. Vincent, in January. The album is their first since 2015's No Cities To Love.

"'The Future Is Here' touches on the isolation that can come from a technology-driven culture. "I start my day on a tiny screen/ Try to connect the words, they're right in front of me/ I walk to work out on the city streets/ No one speaks to me, their stony faces beat," lead vocalist Corin Tucker sings.

The trio also announced a European tour that will have stops in Germany, France as well as the U.K., and additional North American tour dates in Chicago, Oakland, Calif., Portland and Seattle.

#WomenCrush Music, a non-profit arts organization supporting up-and-coming women songwriters, has announced a virtual tour that will bring songwriting showcases, panels and other online events with industry professionals to music communities across the country.

The national tour will kick off on Aug. 3 in San Francisco and then continue to 14 other cities through mid-December. The non-profit will collaborate with venues and sponsors at each stop to donate all proceeds to women, Black and people of color-owned venues as well as artists. They have also started a donation page on Facebook. Ten percent of the funds will go to Public Functionary, a platform for grassroots organizing across music, visual art, performance, and more.

One of the Bay Area dates will benefit the Ivy Room and will feature a showcase with local musicians Skip The Needle, Coraza and No Lovely Thing's Melissa Jones on Aug. 6. On Aug.11, a webinar with Founder / CEO at Indie Music Women Linda Garnett and Manager & Consultant at Direct Input Management Courtney Fairchild will focus on taking careers to the next level.

The move to virtual events an effort to continue supporting the music community. The added local element to the online events was something #WomenCrush Music felt could further help connect communities.

"When COVID-19 hit, I knew that as a community-focused organization we had to continue supporting our community in any way we possibly could," #WomenCrush Music Founder/CEO Ashley K. Stoyanov said in a statement. "While the weekly Instagram Lives and webinars were reaching an international audience and were a valuable resource, we wanted a way to help further connect the rising womxn songwriter community on a local level, as well as help support local music venues who truly make the local music scenes in these communities special. We have always wanted our events to be a place where womxn songwriters can find their next collaborators for shows and to share resources, and we hope that we can continue doing that even if it is virtually through this pandemic."

"Thank you for your understanding during this time as we look forward to coming back together very soon,” the band wrote in a post.

Green Day, Weezer and Fall Out Boy have postponed their joint '80s and '90s arena rock-inspired tour throughout North America, citing safety as a concern as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

The Hella Mega U.S. dates were to kick-off on July 17 in Seattle's T-Mobile Park and closeout on Aug. 29 in Philadelphia. The tour was to feature ska-punk band The Interrupters as special guests. Rescheduled dates will be for summer 2021, they announced on Tuesday, May 19.

"Hopefully this doesn't come as a surprise, but as much as we were all looking forward to seeing you all this summer, everyone's safety is our highest priority so we've officially made the call to reschedule all North American dates of the Hella Mega tour until next year," the bands said in a statement.

They asked fans to hold on to their tickets as they would announce new dates with the same venues in the near future. Dates for the European leg of the tour were postponed on April 23.

The bands announced the massive tour in late 2019. Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said they came up with the idea of reliving the Van Halen, Metallica and Aerosmith show era during an interview with  Zane Lowe, in which he was also joined by Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and Weezer vocalist Rivers Cuomo.

"We talked about how we weren't really wanting to do stadiums and [instead] do something that was like throwback to the Monsters of Rock Tour," Armstrong said.

Wentz added: "I remember in the 1990s there was this one summer, and Guns N' Roses [and] Metallica went on the stadium tour and my parents didn't let me go to it… I feel trapped in that forever and we wanted to recreate that memory."
