Shakira Wins Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album | 18th Latin GRAMMYs
Colombia's Shakira won Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album for El Dorado at the 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards.
The win marked her 11th career Latin GRAMMY win, and first in this category.
This past week, Shakira — who was not present in Las Vegas to accept the award — postponed her worldwide tour in support of El Dorado after suffering a vocal cord hemorrhage.
"In all the years that I have been singing, I never found myself in a similar situation," she wrote on Facebook. "For this and with great regret I must announce that I am obliged to postpone my European tour until 2018, to allow my body some weeks necessary and dedicated to my full recovery."
Shakira's fellow nominees for Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album were David Bisbal, Alejandro Fernández, Camila Luna, and Sebastián Yatra.
