Ringo Starr Hints At Next Beatles Album Deluxe Editions
One would be hard-pressed to find a 77-year-old with more energy than Ringo Starr.
Everybody's favorite Liverpudlian drummer is juggling a forthcoming new album — Give More Love, which features a collaboration with Beatle mate Paul McCartney — with an upcoming tour with his Ringo Starr & His All Star Band kicking off Oct. 13 in Las Vegas.
Of course, the Beatles and their legacy seem to have infinite wings. The group's latest posthumous release, an ambitious 50th-anniversary deluxe edition of their classic Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200 upon its release — proof that the Fab Four are cool in any decade.
In a new Rolling Stone interview, Starr was asked which Beatles deluxe editions he'd like to see next.
"I hope they do the White Album and Abbey Road," said Starr. When asked about Rubber Soul or Revolver, Starr added, "I don't know. Let's say yes! (laughs)."
We vote for Abbey Road and Rubber Soul next. (Note to Apple Corps: Don't forget about that deluxe Let It Be film reissue.)
As far as Starr's zest for the road and if he expects to slow down anytime soon, he said, "As long as I can hold the sticks, [I] can go for a long time."
