Canadian singer/songwriter Victoria Anthony invites you to believe in yourself on her track, "Breathe Underwater." She performs the song, featured on her 2020 debut album, Real Life, on the latest episode of Press Play At Home.

The powerful lyrics to "Breathe Underwater" are about reclaiming your power and feeling validated in your own strength and worth, Anthony says; she likens the feeling to breathing underwater. Justin Gray, who also produced the track, Jessica Karpov and Anthony herself penned the song in just three hours.

The track's uplifting theme is in line with the rest of Real Life—a collection of songs showing Anthony's optimistic view on life and desire to live an emotionally rich life.

Watch Victoria Anthony's performance of "Breathe Underwater" on Press Play At Home below.

For the latest episode of GRAMMY.com's Press Play At Home series, the Ontario-born singer/songwriter Ryland James belts out a soul-fried version of his track “Water,” from his 2020 self-titled debut EP. Written by Lauren Christy, Jon Levine and James himself, the soul-baring track reflects the classic soul, gospel and R&B his grandmother impressed upon him.

Victor Internet Performs "HOLLOW"

The self-penned track follows the Latinx artist's aptly titled debut album, VICTOR'S DEBUT, released in 2019 on Terrible Records. The project effortlessly blends D.I.Y. pop, R&B, indie rock, and hip-hop with honest lyrics. The album is a nod to their musical influences Frank Ocean, James Blake and Prince.

Skipping out on a free ride to Berklee School of Music, singer/songwriter John-Robert moved from his tiny hometown of Edinburg, Virginia to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams of making music. Luckily, GRAMMY-nominated producer/songwriter Ricky Reed (whose credits include Lizzo, Bomba Estéreo, Leon Bridges, Jason Derulo and others) discovered and signed him. The rest is history.

John-Robert Sings "Adeline" | Press Play

In the latest episode of the Recording Academy's Press Play video series, John-Robert tells a tale of distant love with "Adeline," his debut single released in 2019 and written when he was just 17.

Since "Adeline," the 19-year-old storyteller, whose eclectic musical influences include The 1975, Sufjan Stevens, Jeff Buckley, Childish Gambino and Doja Cat, has shared two more original songs: "Urs," and, just this week, "Pelican." He will be dropping his debut EP, Bailey Barley Knew Me, on Reed's Nice Life/Warner Records imprint on May 22. Watch him perform "Adeline" above.
