As the COVID-19 pandemic marks a year around the sun, music has been a primary channel for the grief, suffering and overall malaise many of us feel. Derrial Christon keenly understands this.

"There does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel," the celebrity host, journalist and producer says in this week’s Positive Vibes Only. "But even with that light, we all have to find a place that motivates us and gives us inspiration. Music is that place."

Positive Vibes Only: DOE

To guide us into that space of healing and uplift, gospel singer/songwriter DOE performs her tune "Good Now," about tackling problems by viewing them from a new vantage point.

We're now entering the second March of the pandemic. Despite vaccines being rolled out worldwide, many are falling victim to a feeling of hopelessness. To Lewis Howes, gratitude is our sharpest weapon for when we feel ourselves spiraling, gripped by COVID fatigue.

"It's really hard to be anxious, stressed, overwhelmed and angry while you're being grateful," the author, keynote speaker and entrepreneur says in the latest episode of Positive Vibes Only.

"So, anytime you're feeling those emotions, thoughts or frustrations, focus on something you're so grateful for," he continues. This, he explains, could be as minor as a meal or as major as a transformative experience with a loved one.

Howes then introduces Mali Music, a four-time-GRAMMY-nominated gospel-R&B great, who performs his deeply spiritual ode to divine favor, "My Blessings." Watch the empowering video above and check out more Positive Vibes only here.

Nearly a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, many peoples' love-lives have taken a hit. If you're single, dating can be a downright dangerous proposition; if you have a live-in partner, being in the same space nonstop for months on end can lead to friction.

Thankfully, in this week's Positive Vibes Only, GRAMMY-nominated DJ/producer Todd Terry and House Gospel Choir are here to strengthen us during this trying time for romance. From 29 different windows, they sing in crisp harmony about the oneness of the human family and our common fallibility and need for acceptance. In other words, we're all in this together. "If you need some love," they sing as a united throng, "Don’t you dare give up."

At the top of the video, TV host, actress, and entrepreneur Stacy Ike offers a soul-lifting speech about how we need to nurture our relationships during this isolating, perilous time—only to others, but to ourselves.

Led off by a heart-strengthening monologue from inspirational speaker Danielle LaPorte, the gospel greats offer a gorgeous take on the Pete Seeger classic

In uncertain times such as these, it's hard to tell how an earnest paean for peace like Pete Seeger's "If I Had A Hammer" has practical utility. This week's Positive Vibes Only episode revisits the song in the service of healing, reconciliation and optimism.

While Blind Boys Of Alabama may be best known for their heavy-hearted version of Tom Waits' "Way Down In The Hole"—read: you've got to keep the devil down there as the Season 1 theme music to HBO's "The Wire"—they can give you the strength to carry on, too. Their gorgeous, exuberant cover of "Hammer" is proof positive of this.

Positive Vibes Only: Blind Boys Of Alabama

At the top of the video, author, motivational speaker and entrepreneur Danielle LaPorte offers a soothing monologue about the intersection of faith and doubt. She explains why the latter isn't a bogeyman to be feared and avoided, but "an invitation for us to double down on our faith."

Watch the uplifting performance of "If I Had A Hammer" by Blind Boys Of Alabama below, and explore more episodes of GRAMMY.com's transformative Positive Vibes Only series.

Press Play At Home: Francisca Valenzuela Performs Her Courageous Feminist Paean "La Fortaleza"

For Francisca Valenzuela, feminism isn't a radical notion, but a self-evident truth. The daughter of two renowned Chilean scientists, she's published muscular, experiential poetry (like her 2000 book, Defenseless Waters, which she published in her early teens) and founded Ruidosa, a festival, platform and community that elevates female voices.

Press Play At Home: Francisca Valenzuela

In this episode of Press Play At Home, Valenzuela sings "La Fortaleza," which contains her worldview in microcosm. "Everything that has happened has led me to today," she sings in Spanish. "I look ahead to the horizon and I bury the guilt and leave/I pack a suitcase, take a deep breath and don't look back/Setting sun, rising sun will accompany me."

Check out Francisca Valenzuela's riveting performance of "La Fortaleza" above, and watch other episodes of Press Play At Home.
