Pink To Receive 2017 MTV VMAs Video Vanguard Award
Pink is having a killer couple of months, including the release of her latest single, "What About Us," and news about her upcoming seventh studio album, Beautiful Trauma. As if that isn't enough, she is set to receive the 2017 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards.
From her three GRAMMY wins to her chart-topping hits, unforgettable videos like "Get The Party Started" and "Lady Marmalade," and acrobatic live shows and philanthropy efforts, Pink is a natural candidate for the Video Vanguard Award.
Established in 1984, the inaugural year of the VMAs, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award honors artists who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of music and film. The first three recipients were David Bowie, the Beatles and Richard Lester. Since then, GRAMMY winners such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears have taken home the honor.
The VMAs will be held Aug. 27 at The Forum in Los Angeles, with Katy Perry serving as host.
