Niall Horan Announces New Album 'Flicker,' 2018 Concert Tour
It's been a busy 24 hours for Niall Horan.
Not only has the One Direction singer dropped his new single, "Too Much To Ask," a plaintive piano-based ballad, he announced his first solo album, Flicker, will drop on Oct. 20.
The album will also feature the 2016 single "This Town" and "Seeing Blind," a collaboration with GRAMMY winner Maren Morris. As it turns out, Horan was inspired to team with Morris following her performance with Alicia Keys at the 59th GRAMMY Awards.
"I was like, 'Maren, I’ve got this song, I would really love you to be on it, obviously no pressure. If you don’t want to do it, you’re fine,'" the Irish singer/songwriter told Entertainment Weekly about the country-inspired collab. "She brought the song to life and sounds amazing on it."
"Seeing Blind" seemingly sparked a greater chemistry. Horan has also announced that he and Morris will set out on summer/fall tour in 2018. Launching July 18, 2018, in Houston, the jaunt is scheduled to twist and turn through the United States before winding up in Miami on Sept. 23.
Fans wanting to get a taste of live music from Horan in the meantime will be satiated by his current Flicker Sessions 2017 tour. During the run, which launched Aug. 29 in Dublin, he'll preview songs from Flicker in an intimate setting.
