Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's smash collaboration "Despacito" won Record Of The Year at the 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards.

Luis Fonsi: "Despacito" Wins Record Of The Year

"Good evening! A very good evening to all. Thank you very much. This award is [about] teamwork. Record Of The Year involves many people. Come, come guys, the producers of "Despacito": Please, this is yours too. Come here, come here. Thank you very much, father God. Thank you very much to the Academy. Thank you very much. Before anything, teamwork. Daddy Yankee, thank you very much for joining "Despacito." You're big Daddy Yankee. Thank you, Erika Ender. Thank you to my producers from Colombia … Andresito Torres, Mauricio — I love him. Thank you to everyone involved — to the engineers, to all the people that get the credit but are part of the success. Thank you Universal Music [and] Jesus Lopez. Thank you to my management, Tony Mojena. Thank you to my family that are watching me from home: my wife, and my two children that I love so much, Mikaela [and] Rocco. I love you so much. This is for Puerto Rico. Long live Puerto Rico." — Luis Fonsi

Arguably the most ubiquitous song of the summer of 2017, "Despacito" topped several charts worldwide, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Portugal. The remix version featuring Justin Bieber, which took Best Urban Fusion/Performance honors, topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States for 16 consecutive weeks, tying with "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men for the most consecutive weeks at the top in the chart's history.

"Despacito" also won for Best Short Form Music Video and Song Of The Year.

The other Record Of The Year nominees were "La Flor De La Canela" — Rubén Blades, "El Surco" — Jorge Drexler, "Quiero Que Vuelvas" — Alejandro Fernández, "El Ratico" — Juanes feat. Kali Uchis, "Amárrame" — Mon Laferte feat. Juanes, "Felices Los 4" — Maluma, "Vente Pa' Ca" — Ricky Martin feat. Maluma, "Guerra" — Residente, and "Chantaje" — Shakira feat. Maluma.

"Despacito," Vicente García and Rubén Blades emerged as the big winners at the 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards on Nov. 16 in Las Vegas.

Rubén Blades Album Of The Year | Acceptance Speech

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," the 2017 smash that just won't slow down, took home four awards: Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best Short Form Music Video, and Best Urban Fusion/Performance. The song's remix earned the latter award, which netted Justin Bieber his first career Latin GRAMMY win.

Newcomer Dominican singer/songwriter García won his first three career Latin awards: Best New Artist, Best Singer-Songwriter Album for A La Mar and Best Tropical Song for "Bachata En Kingston."

Vicente García Best New Artist | Acceptance Speech

The Panamanian Blades took home Album Of The Year and Best Salsa Album honors for Salsa Big Band — Rubén Blades Con Roberto Delgado & Orquesta. He was previously nominated for Album Of The Year three times.

What was your favorite 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards performance?

Though they didn't work as a pair this time around, Calle 13 — Residente and Eduardo Cabra (Visitante) — made their presence known.

Residente earned Best Urban Album honors for Residente and Best Urban Song for "Somos Anormales."

Meanwhile, Cabra took home Producer Of The Year honors.

GRAMMY winner Lin-Manuel Miranda of "Hamilton" fame was feted with special recognition in the form of a President's Merit Award. "No one gets here alone," said Miranda, who referred to himself as the "weird theater kid."

The 18th Latin GRAMMY Awards was all about dazzling performances as well.

Following a moment of silence for Puerto Rico and Mexico and the people affected by the recent natural disasters, Residente opened the show on a poignant note with his "Hijos Del Cañaveral."

Alejandro Sanz, the 2017 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year, was honored by fellow Latin GRAMMY winner Juan Luis Guerra. After dedicating the award to his family, Sanz performed a medley of his hits, including "Corazón Partío."

Colombia's Juanes, who won Best Pop/Rock Album for Planes Son Amarte, joined Alessia Cara and Logic for a moving performance of the Spanish version of the latter's suicide prevention anthem, "1-800-273-8255."

Making an impressive Latin GRAMMY stage debut, Miami-based boy band collective — and Best New Artist nominees — Cnco performed their hit "Reggaetton Lento."

Colombian reggaeton singer/songwriter Maluma commanded the stage with verve during a reading of his "Felicies Los 4."

Fresh from winning her first Latin GRAMMY for Best Alternative Song, Chile's Mon Laferte energetically performed her winning song: "Amárrame."

In a raucous finale, Fonsi served up a knock-out punch of "Despacito" alongside special guests Bomba Estéreo, Víctor Manuelle and Diplo. Fittingly, the biggest song in Latin music in 2017 served as an unforgettable coda to The Biggest Night in Latin Music.

YouTube has released data for the most streamed music videos of all time on its platform. Not surprisingly, Luis Fonsi's and Daddy Yankee's huge 2017 Latin GRAMMY-winning hit, "Despacito," earns the spot of the most-streamed music video of all time with over 6.5 billion (!) views to date.

To be clear, this is the original version, not the Justin Bieber-assisted remix, although the pop sensation also makes the top 10 list, at No. 6, for his 2015 bop "Sorry." The Purpose track earns the spot with over 3.2 billion views. In fact, each of the top 10 videos has racked up over two billion views.

The second most-viewed music videos on YouTube is one of the other catchy-as-hell, inescapable hits of 2017: Ed Sheeran's GRAMMY-winning "Shape Of You," which has over 4.5 billion views to date. Another one of the British pop star's GRAMMY-winning songs, 2014's "Thinking Out Loud," also makes the list, at No. 10 with over 2.8 billion video views.

As for the third and fourth spots, we have 2015's "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth, a GRAMMY-nominated song from the Furious 7 Soundtrack, and 2014's GRAMMY-winning bop "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. These two music videos have over 4.3 billion and over 3.7 views, respectively. Fifth place goes to PSY's 2012 meme-ready viral hit, "GANGNAM STYLE," at over 3.4 billion video views.

The seventh most video of all time goes to the song that allegedly prompted a stranger to throw sugar at Adam Levine's face, Maroon 5's GRAMMY-nominated hit "Sugar." The 2015 track's visual has over three billion views on YouTube and is followed by Katy Perry's 2013 GRAMMY-nominated empowerment anthem, "Roar" at over 2.9 million views. Finally, the number nine spot goes to OneRepublic's 2013 barn-stomping pop hit, "Counting Stars."

The data, which YouTube shared via a press release, broke out the top music videos by the last four decades, based on the year they were originally released because, of course, YouTube has only been around since 2004. While the aforementioned top 10 videos of the 2010s were also the top 10 videos of all time, the top music videos of the 2000s, 1990s and 1980s also had some interesting finds.

The No. 1 song of the 2010s is Axel F's "Crazy Frog" at over 1.9 billion views, surpassing Linkin Park's Numb," Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" and Taylor Swift's "You Belong To Me," which followed chronologically on that decade chart. Guns N' Roses take the number one spots for both the 1990s and 1980s list, with "November Rain" topping the former and "Sweet Child O' Mine" the latter.

An honorable mention goes to "Baby Shark Dance," the kid's song that was released in 2016 by South Korean company Pinkfong and went viral earlier this year. The original video (not to be confused with the many spinoffs or official EDM remix by JAUZ) has earned more views than "Uptown Funk." Baby Shark's family takes the number five spot of the most viewed videos of all time (music or otherwise) list on YouTube. Don't worry, Fonsi and Yankee are still at the top of this all-content list, so they don't have to worry about any hungry baby sharks—for now, at least.
